    With growing interest of many people in Indian Yoga and Meditation you might have heard them talking about the power of Mantras. In fact there are many people who experience inner peace and calmness by reciting or simply listening to some mantras. What exactly is this effect of Mantras. Is it purely a placebo effect or is there any science behind it ? Let’s dig deeper into this.

    What is a Mantra ?

    Before discussing the power or the effect of Mantra first we need to know what a Mantra is. A Mantra is a word or a prayer, mostly in Sanskrit, that is chanted or sung. It might be as simple as a single word Om (Aum)( ॐ) or a set of rhythmic words and phrases like the Gayatri Mantra. A mantra is repeated multiple times (mostly 108) by people. Most mantras dates back to the Vedic period (1500-500 BCE) or even older.

    How Mantras affect us ?

    Well on the surface it appears that reciting mantras is a religious thing only. But if you go deeper, you will realize their power. But before that we have to understand one very basic fact about human bodies. Firstly, that the heartbeat and breathing are interconnected. The oxygen required by our body is directly proportional to the rate at which our heart beats. For example, when a person exercises, muscles need energy for movement. To provide this energy heart have to beat faster to pump more oxygen. In simple terms, as the heart beats faster, it uses more energy and sends more oxygen to the body.

    Now, excersice is a very positive example. If we observe statistically heartbeat of individuals mostly increases due to wrong and negative reasons. It might be due to stress, age, bad fitness level, illness etc. Prolonged increased heart rate might result in cardiovascular deseases or a heart attack.

    If you notice any mantra, it is rythemic. When we chant the same mantra repeatedly it sets our breathing pattern in a certain manner. When breathing is happening in a set manner it directly affects our heartbeat. A balanced breathing pattern and heartbeat togather give a feeling of relaxasation and calmness.

    Effect of Mantras on the Universe?

    It is often said that if you are going through tough times chanting certain Mantras will help you. Mantras have effect on our bodies and help keep us calm is understandable but Can recitation of mantra bring about a change in our environment? How is this possible? To understand this we need to understand some basic scientific facts.

    The smallest unit of this world is an Atom.Every organic and inorganic matter is made up of atoms. An atom is composed of a nucleus (consisting or nutrons and/or protons) and electron(s) surrounding the nucleus. For a very long time it was beleived that electrons orbit around the nucleus just like planets do around the Sun in a solar system. But the movement of elctrons is not like that. Recently it has been established that electrons actually oscilate or vibrate around the nucleus.

    When we recite Mantras vibration is produced. One vibration have the capability to affect another vibration. So when we recite Mantras we affect everthing around us. So with the right Mantras we can very well change the energy field around us to a positive one and make the Universe work in our favour.

    And above everything I would like to suggest just one thing. Dont beleive anyone else or this article. Sit alone, close your eyes and chant a Mantra and feel the difference. You can start by a very simple Mantra like “Om Namah Shivay” or even and “Om”.

    In recent years non dairy milk like almond milk,soya milk,etc had gained a lot of popularity.But they are way different from real cow milk as they smell & taste completely different because they are different in flavour,texture & nutritional values.

    They have decoded the genetic properties of cow milk to identify the genes responsible for the production of the protein that makes traditional cow milk.After identification Remilk replicates the gene and insert it inside yeasts. Yes yeasts the same one that is being used in breads and other kitchen products since a long time.When the insert the specific milk producing genes inside yeasts it acts like a manual instructor and it starts producing animal protein in a more refined,controlled and highly efficient method.Remilk then place these yeasts in large fermentors where it rapidly produces the cow milk identical protein.After this the protein is collected,then purified and finally dried to be used in their products.

  • Waste to miracle: Medical waste to drip irrigation miracle.

    India is a country of farmers and still the primary income of approx 70% of our total population comes from agriculture. But in most places, due to low rainfall and use of very old technology, the farmer does not get the fruits of his hard work. Most of the farmers have to bear the loss due to lack of availability of water or proper irrigation.

    Similar situation happened in Jhabua, a tribal-dominated district of Madhya Pradesh. It was very hard to cultivate in the hilly terrain of tribal areas. Here the crop yield was low due to 35° downward slanting soil surface due to which all water used to flow downhill & rain water based farming was not feasible. A farmer named Ramesh Baria was disappointed by this and wished to do farming with better yields.

    Due to these challenges he contacted NAIP (National Agricultural Innovation Project) KVK scientists in the year 2009-2010 and under their guidance, he started vegetable cultivation in a small step type patch of land during winter and rainy season. This vegetable cultivation was just right for this kind of land. Here he started growing bitter gourd, sponge gourd. Soon he also set up a small nursery. However, during the initial development phase, they experienced acute water shortage due to delayed monsoon.

    Seeing that his crop might be ruined, Baria again sought the help of NAIP. Where experts suggested that they adopt drip irrigation technique with the help of water bottles of Waste medical Glucose bottles . He purchased plastic bottles of Rs 20 per kg from one of his known scrap dealer who was dealing in plastic medical wastes and cut off the upper half to make an inlet for the water. Next, he hung them near the plants.

    He created a consistent drop by drop steady flow of water from these bottles & asked his children to refill all the bottles before going to school in the morning,

    With this technique like an miracle he earned a profit of Rs 15,200 from 0.1-hectare of land till the season ending. Not only was this technology efficient enough to save his plants from drought, but it also resulted in zero wastage of water and was done in a cost-effective manner.

    In addition, waste glucose plastic bottles that would otherwise have taken forever to rot in the garbage dump of medical waste was used in an brilliant manner thus by saving environment. It was soon adopted by other farmers of the village as well. Ramesh Baria was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation from the District Administration and Agriculture Minister of the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
